STEREO COMPRESSOR
Parameters

A compressor is a signal processor that is used to control
the dynamic range of a certain musical instrument or vocals.

When using a compressor, you will find the following parameters :

  1)THRESHOLD.
The threshold is a point at which the compressor starts to function. The compressor does NOT react to any audio signal below the threshold level. Once the audio signal reaches the threshold level, the compressor starts to compress the signal.

  2)RATIO.
The Ratio parameter determines the amount of compression which is applied on the audio signal. If the ratio is set to 2:1 , it means for every 2db increase (input) will result in 1db increase at the output of the compressor.

  3)ATTACK TIME.
The Attack Time is the amount of time the compressor will take to start reacting on an incoming signal once it has exceeded the threshold level.

  4)RELEASE TIME.
The Release Time is the amount of time the compressor will take to stop reacting on the incoming audio signal when the signal level goes below the threshold level.
